General Order No. 2023-02
13 May 2023
1. Effective 22 November 2022, the Commanding General is proud to present Brother Jeffrey
Graf of the Iron Brigade in the Fourth Military District, the Meritorious Service Medal, Silver
Star:
COMMANDER
SONS OF VETERANS RESERVE
Takes pleasure in presenting the
Meritorious Service Medal
SILVER STAR
To
Captain Jeffrey Graf
SONS OF VETERANS RESERVE
For services as set forth in the following citation:
For exceptionally distinguished service and sustained outstanding performance
of duty while serving as Commander of the Iron Brigade Guard in the Fourth
Military District of the Sons of Veterans Reserve.
In addition to providing outstanding leadership and management to the Iron
Brigade Guard in your role as unit commander, you have also devoted a
tremendous amount of time and effort to recruiting new members. Since 2018
you have recruited 23 new members from SUVCW Camp 15 in Wind Lake,
Wisconsin and 5 new members from SUVCW Camp 56 in Minnesota bringing
your unit strength to 48. You have divided your unit into two platoons based on
geographical areas providing an opportunity for more active participation by
members of the unit. The establishment of an Honor Guard within the unit which
drills regularly and has become highly competent in the manual of arms assures
an impressive SVR appearance by your unit during its participation in many
public appearances and ceremonies.
Your dedication to preserving our Civil War heritage clearly qualifies you as a
most noteworthy recipient of this prestigious award and a most noteworthy
representative of the Sons of Veterans Reserve.
PRESENTED THIS 19th DAY OF NOVEMBER, 2022 AT GETTYSBURG,
PENNSYLVANIA.
