1. Effective 12 August 2006, the National Military Affairs Committee finalized a schedule of events for Saturday, 18 November 2006 in connection with the Fiftieth Anniversary Remembrance Day Weekend at Gettysburg, Pennsylvania.

2. Among other matters addressed by the National Military Affairs Committee, 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, 18 November 2006 was established as the time and date for brief ceremonies to take place at the GAR Memorial in the National Park.

3. All Sons of Veterans Reserve Units participating in the Remembrance Day Weekend should plan on attending the ceremonies at the GAR Memorial in the National Park at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, 18 November 2006.

1. Effective 28 November 2006, Major Jack G. Grothe, Commander of the Fourth Military District, SVR, shall serve as the point of contact for all uniformed troops for the Lincoln Death Day Ceremony to be held in Springfield, Illinois on Saturday, 14 April 2007.

2. Major Grothe’s duties shall include, but not be limited to inviting all SVR and non-SVR Units to the Lincoln Day Death Ceremony, coordinating any activities that may be required for the event, placing uniformed troops appropriately during the event and serving as Provost Marshal for the event.

3. As part and parcel of his duties, Major Grothe shall include the Commanding Officer, SVR, the Deputy Commander, SVR, the Adjutant General, SVR and the Provost Marshal, SVR in all correspondence relevant to uniformed activities of the Lincoln Day Death Ceremony.

2. All Provost Marshal activities and duties within the SVR shall be coordinated through Major Schmincke, including the 126th and 127th National Encampments in St. Louis and Boston, respectively, as well as Remembrance Day in November of 2007.

3. Unless deemed otherwise by the next succeeding Commanding Officer, SVR, Major Schmincke’s rank of Major will expire upon the completion of the 127th National Encampment of the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War in Boston in 2008.

1. Effective 28 November 2006, Major Jack G. Grothe, Commander of the Fourth Military District, is appointed Provost Marshal for the 126th National Encampment, Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War. This appointment shall expire at 2400 hours 12 August 2007.

2. The duties of Provost Marshal for the 126th National Encampment is to ensure order is maintained when the National Encampment is in session. The Provost Marshal will report directly to the Commanding Officer, Sons of Veterans Reserve, or his designee.

3. Major Grothe may appoint a staff such as is necessary to assist him in carrying out his duties, but in no event shall any individual be promoted beyond their current rank.

4. As part and parcel of his duties, Major Grothe shall inform, in writing, the Commanding Officer, SVR, the Deputy Commander, SVR, the Adjutant General, SVR and the Provost Marshal, SVR of all Provost Marshal activities leading up to and including the 126th National Encampment of the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War.

The duties of the Deputy Provost Marshal for the Remembrance Day weekend is to assist with the handling of parade registration and to assist in providing information to parade participants, to assist in overseeing the line up prior to the commencement of the parade, to assist in superintending parade activities, and to assist in acting as liaison between the SVR and the Remembrance Day Committee. The Deputy Provost Marshal will report directly to the Provost Marshal or the Commanding Officer, Sons of Veterans Reserve, or their designees.

3. Effective 02 September 2002 or as soon thereafter as is practicable, all property owned by the Sixth Military District or the Sons of Veterans Reserve and in the possession of Charles J. Reed, shall be turned over to Captain Mark S. Wilson, District Adjutant and temporary Commander, Sixth Military District.

4. In conformity with General Order 2002-21, Charles J. Reed, Commander of Company G, 1st California Volunteer Infantry, Sixth Military District, SVR, shall retain his rank as a First Lieutenant, SVR, until 14 July 2005, unless the same shall otherwise be lawfully determined void and annulled.

2. The duties of Provost Marshal for the 121st National Encampment is to ensure order is maintained when the Commandery is in session. The Provost Marshal will report directly to the Commanding Officer, Sons of Veterans Reserve, or his designee.
