SVR General Order 2016-01
1. Effective 1 July 2016, Major Peter A. Rotando, Commander 1st Military District, SVR is retiring from his position within the SVR. It is with a heavy heart that the Commanding General accepts this retirement. Major Rotando has lead the 1st Military District for a number of years and his involvement within the SVR goes back decades.
2. Major Rotando will be placed in the ranks of the SVR Inactive Reserve and will be afforded all privileges due his rank.

SVR General Order 2016-02
1. Effective 1 July 2016, Private Edward J. Norris is commissioned to the rank of Captain, SVR and placed in command of the 1st Military District of the Sons of Veterans Reserve. Captain Norris will rank as such until 19 November 2016 or until properly relieved.

SVR General Order 2016-03
1. Effective this date, the Commanding General Sons of Veterans Reserve issues the following commissions. These commissions will remain active until 4 July 2019 or until the officers hold said commissions are properly relieved:
a. Captain John J. Green is re-commissioned Captain, SVR, to serve as Commander Company C, 28th Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry, 2nd Military District. This unit’s strength exceeds 30 men.
b. 2nd Lieutenant Ralph Prince is re-commissioned 2nd Lieutenant, SVR to serve as Chaplain Company C, 28th Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry, 2nd Military District.
c. 1st Lieutenant Chris Harris is re-commissioned a 1st Lieutenant, SVR, in Company C, 28th Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry, 2nd Military District.

f. Captain George J. Weinmann is re-commissioned a Captain, SVR, to serve as Commander Company I 83th New York Volunteer, 2nd Military District. This unit exceeds 30 men.
g. 1st Lieutenant John P. Portanova is Re-commissioned a 1st Lieutenant, SVR, to serve as Adjutant Company I, 83rd New York Volunteer Infantry, 2nd Military District.
h. 2nd Lieutenant Fred Mossbrucker is re-commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant, SVR in the 7th New Jersey Volunteer Infantry, 2nd Military District.
i. 1st Sgt. Richard Goodwin is commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant, SVR to serve as Adjutant Company D, 7th New York Cavalry, 2nd Military District.
j. Captain Richard J. Lewis is re-commissioned a Captain, SVR, to serve as Commander Company D, 7th New York Cavalry, 2nd Military District. This unit exceeds 30 men.

n. Ensign Ken Freshley is re-commissioned an Ensign, SVR to serve as Adjutant Ohio Naval Brigade, 3rd Military District.

r. 1st Lieutenant Larry Dieztel is re-commissioned as a 1st Lieutenant, SVR, to serve as Commander 1st Missouri State Militia “Columbia Tigers,” 4th Military District. This unit has exceeded 20 men.

SVR General Order 2016-06
1. This General Order is issued to indicating SVR Units that missed the deadline for filing a letter with the National Treasurer SUVCW Richard Orr. This letter was for the inclusion of the unit on the IRS report listing for 501(c)3 classification.
2. All District Commanders are order to personally contact the delinquent unit Commander and ascertain why there was no filing by the unit. This information will in turn be forwarded to the Adjutant General SVR.

1. Major General Robert Grim, Commanding General SVR, hereby announces the retirement of 1st Lt. D. Christopher Warren, Company E, 47th Missouri Infantry from the Active Sons of Veterans Reserve effective 15 September 2016.
2. 1st Lt. D. Christopher Warren will be transferred to the Inactive Reserve with his current effective 15 September 2016.
3. The Commanding General wishes to thank 1st Lt. Warren for his steadfast and long service within the Sons of Veterans Reserve. It is though men like 1st. Warren that the Sons of Veterans Reserve have moved forward and continue to grow.
